The visiting Àngel Forés was booed thoroughly by the home crowd in the 65:th minute, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. International friendly in Italy

Astafiux 1 – 2 socceroos
(205888554)

13-01-2009 19:20
701 spectators had found their way to Simpaty Stadium, despite the heavy rain.
A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Astafiux. The following players had been chosen: Trovarelli - Zorino, Pickett, Yanez, Medagliani - Senar, Korljan, Florentino - Bonfranchi, Perú, Folli.
socceroos tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Alcazaba - Pompei, Trãistaru, Marín Valle - Johansson, Corneanu, Bianchi, Olofsson, Illescas - González, Marcu.

The strategy for socceroos on this day was to use their ability to press. At this time in the match, socceroos was using their skill at pressing to successfully put pressure on their opponents. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 24:th minute goal by Alexandre Florentino for Astafiux, putting them ahead 1 - 0. socceroos's ability to press their opponents all over the field paid off frequently. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit Albert Marín Valle just fine. Astafiux's Šimun Korljan saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates in the 39:th minute. socceroos's Mats Johansson was shown a yellow card after 43 minutes for slicing down an opponent. In the 43:th minute, Astafiux appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only weak. Umberto Medagliani almost put Astafiux ahead another goal when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and almost into the net, but the visitors' keeper got there just in time to knock it wide.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Astafiux claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The Astafiux players spent the halftime break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organization and regained a passable organization. The visitors refused to give up and, in the 47:th minute, Humberto Oreste Pompei scored the tying 1 - 1 goal as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. Alessandro Folli of Astafiux was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Astafiux's Clint Pickett tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. A badly positioned defensive formation on a free kick in the 88:th minute led to socceroos's Constantin Marcu giving the visitors the lead 1 - 2.
Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed socceroos's Daniel Illescas a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind in the 89:th minute. Astafiux tried to even things up by sending a long play towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Astafiux enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

Astafiux's top performer was clearly Pirmin Bonfranchi. Giacomo Trovarelli was a disappointment, however. socceroos's best player was Giuliano Bianchi. However, Humberto Oreste Pompei made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
