socceroos used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. socceroos pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Mats Johansson had a grin on his face as he raced down the field, almost oblivious to the rain. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of socceroos's Albert Marín Valle after 19 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. The defenders were clearly outwitted by Rollers after 32 minutes. A foul after 48 minutes resulted in a free kick. Hagen Setznagel cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 2 to 1. The visitors refused to give up and, after 65 minutes, Dorel Corneanu scored the tying 2 - 2 goal as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. The guests took the lead 85 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Artur Pfaffenzeller scoring the 2 - 3 goal. Jiri Haapasalo of Rollers received a yellow card after 85 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Rollers, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Rollers player was Geert Habla. However, René Pitzek made a disastrous appearance. socceroos's top performer was clearly Artur Pfaffenzeller. Saúl Alcazaba was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 3.
