12802 punters turned up at socceroo Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. socceroos tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Alcazaba - Marín Valle, Corneanu, Pompei - Johansson, Illescas, Olofsson, Moreau, Jespersson - Pfaffenzeller, Kotinurmi.

marley had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Vial - Pintado, Eguía, Gormaz, Arandia - Alcaraz Casademunt, Salinas Mila, Molins, Recasens - Abolafio, Eume.

socceroos broke through on the left 7 minutes into the game, with Kalle-Matti Kotinurmifiring in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. socceroos solidified their lead at the 26 minute mark, as Kalle-Matti Kotinurmi manoeuvered the ball through the opposing central defence and finished for 2 - 0. The socceroos coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 26 minutes into the game. By now, socceroos were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in socceroos's Daniel Illescas putting the lead up to 3 - 0. Kalle-Matti Kotinurmi gave socceroos supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0 after 33 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for Kalle-Matti KotinurmiHumberto Oreste Pompei behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 34 minutes as he gave the ball away to Raimundo Recasens. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. socceroos managed to extend their lead to 5 - 0 when Artur Pfaffenzeller cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Halftime score was 5 - 0. This half belonged to socceroos, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

In an effort to secure the lead, socceroos changed their tactic after 46 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the socceroos coach let Tito Gallard replace Mats Jespersson after 60 minutes. Mats Johansson had a fantastic opportunity to put socceroos up another goal 64 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. As Daniel Illescas was substituted 65 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead. Aapo Suokko was the replacement. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Aapo Suokko took over the role of being the socceroos captain. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, socceroos's Nicolas Moreau got himself booked. The coach of socceroos was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, Héctor Biarge came on for Kalle-Matti Kotinurmi. marley reduced the score after 70 minutes to 5 - 1 as Raimundo Recasens easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. 82 minutes into the game, socceroos were awarded a penalty that Albert Marín Valle turned into 6 - 1 without a problem. With 82 minutes played, Salva Eume had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. Nicolas Moreau should probably have put his team up another goal after 83 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by Juan Manuel Vialkept the visitors in the game. This half belonged to socceroos, who controlled the ball 77 percent of the time.

socceroos's best player was Artur Pfaffenzeller. On the other hand, Albert Marín Valle's play was disheartening. marley's top performer was clearly Alejandro Alcaraz Casademunt.Manuel Gormaz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 1.
